TEACHING ACROSS PROFICIENCY LEVELS

 Profiency levels means that the teacher has to know and use the adecuate material in order to teach their children the target language. For example; the teacher has to employ the  necessary methodology and study their students in order to know in what level they are or what are their strengths or weaknesses.

TEACHING BEGINNING LEVELS:

With beginners students, teachers have to be carefully  with their methodology because students in this level have little or not knowledge about the target language. so the teacher implement some techniques in which students can understand the topics that the teacher want to develop in the class. The teacher is the principal actor because they transmit the knowledge to their students so the teacher has to be very patient and dynamic when he teaches their classes.

TEACHING INTERMEDIATE LEVELS:

In this level, students has a little bit of knowledge so it´s a little bit easier to teach the target language. students in this level are able to speak and express their points of view even can work with the whole class because they can speak with fluency although they make mistake but it´s natural in this level because the purpose of the teacher is that students can learn to correct their own mistakes.

TEACHING ADVANCED LEVELS:

 Students at this level are better able to make or participate in activities that the teacher wants to do in the class. students can understand and speak the language fluenty. they almost
achieve their goals.

WHAT I LIKED FROM MY PRESENTATION?
The thing that i like from my presentation was that this method is new for my classmates and i because we only use the same activities for example: listen a song, repeat new words, conversations, role plays, etc, and we didnt use this activities like cuisenaire rods. i think we have to be very creative and find other kind of activities that help the students to learn the target language. i think work with this rods its very funny and dynamic activitie because according the topic that the teacher want to develop for example: teaching colors, teaching sentences structures, role plays using cuisenarie rods, etc, help the students understand and learn the topic in a very funny way (but it is depend on the level). This kind of activity it is used with kids and beginners.

WHAT I COULD HAVE IMPROVED?
Well, i think that my presentation not was good because some of my classmates dindnt understand well the purpose of the activity because only i said in which areas it is used this activity only i asked one or two people to participate. I consider this topic very difficult and confused because at the beginning i didnt know exactly what was the purpose of this method that why i didnt feel confortable in the presentation. For the next presentation, im gong to prepare well the activities and the topic.

DID YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE?
Well, first i didnt feel comfortable in the presentation because as i told you before the topic was a little bit confused and i didnt understand the purpose of the method but now i understand somethings.

WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE ACTIVITIES MY OTHER CLASSMATES PRESENTED?
 Well, I think that all the activities that my classmates presented are very useful in order to learn the language because all the activities have the purpose to reinforce the topic that the teacher want to develop and in the process of learning this kind of activities help us a lot.

SILENT WAY


WHAT I LIKED FROM MY METHOD?

The things that i really liked from this topic is that the students are the principal actors in this method because the teacher guides and monitor the students effort. when we talk about the students "effort" means, that they try to investigate and try to discover the target language by their own, without the help of the teacher because in this method teacher uses silence for multiple purposes. When the teacher uses silent, he wants to know if students are able to correct their own mistakes, and the students have to work hard and try to find their resources, in order to acquire or learn the target language. In other words, students have to discover the laguage by their own. 

The main features that a student should have in this method are: First, students have to be very observant. Students have to be very alert and focused in the classroom. Second , students must be willing to discover the language. students try to discover the language by their own way, using their own resources, and third, the student attitude needs to be positive.

Another thing that i liked is that the silent way method uses a whole set of materials, which can be use in the class. this activities are very dynamic because uses a lot of colorful charts that represent general topics.

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE FROM MY METHOD?

There are some things that i did not like from this method, because in silent way method the teacher is not seen as the principal actor in the process of learning. the teacher does not help the students when they are teaching something, they only show and show and the students have to learn by their own because teacher does not talk. This is one disadvantage because students have the responsability to learn the target language by their own resources without the help of the teacher. learning will depend on the student. Another thing that i do not like is that students works in isolation and communication is lacking badly in a silent way class.

WHAT I UNDERSTOOD FROM THE OTHER METHODS?

 

AUDIO-LINGUAL METHOD:

I uderstood that this method emphasizes audio-lingual skills over reading and writing. In this method teacher uses dialogues and drills as the main tecniques. because they want to develop a good oral and listening skills. Nowadays, teachers use this method because It is an effective way in which students can learn the target language in a dynamic way because teachers use dialogues in order the students practice the target language. repetition in this method can sometimes be helpful. 

 

DIRECT METHOD: 

I understood that this method it emphasises language learning by direct contact with the foreign language in meaninful situations. The direct method follows the natural way of learning a language. the child acquires fluency in english speech. It is a good method because the principal thing is develop good pronunciation.

 his or her job, they will motivate their students 
to keep learning and to study because they want them 
to love teaching them new things.
 Teachers are responsible for creating an environment 
of support that allows children to develop their own 
ideas, express their feelings, take risks, make choices, 
and most of all, grow to be strong, thinking individuals.

The qualities of a good teacher are ones who had  
passion  and enthusiasm, the ones who loves and 
 enjoys ... do not mean it's all fun, the purpose of it
 is that children learn  by playing and discover  
the things by they own, the teacher is only 
 a guide in the process of teaching.
